Three fall prey to road accident

GUJRAT, Oct 21: Three passengers were killed and 21 others received injuries on Monday when a speeding bus overturned near Gandhara, Gujrat.

The bus (AJKD-1056) which was on its way to Lahore from Chowki Samahni overturned while negotiating a sharp turn. Consequently, conductor Gul Abbas, Raja Javed and Intizar Hussain died instantly while 21 other passengers sustained injuries.

The injured were taken to the local DHQ Hospital where seven of them were stated to be in critical condition. The injured were identified as Yaqoob, Fazal, Ejaz, Sabir, Hanif, Rafique, Ghulam Rasool, Tariq, Anwar, Saleem, Abdul Ghafoor, Nazeer Begum, Fazal Hussain, Irshad Bibi, Usama, Younas, Mushtaq Shah, Robina Kausar, Razzak, Saddique and Naeem.

Saddar police have registered a case against the absconding driver, Fida Hussain.
