KARACHI, Oct 21: The city council on Monday approved “bylaws for conduct of meetings-2002”, and a resolution that the next session of the House will be held in the lawns of old KMC building instead of the council hall due to delay in commencement of renovation work of the hall.
The conduct of meeting bylaws defines the roles and parameters for members to hold the session and clearly states that all proceedings will be done in Urdu language only. It also defines the questions that can be submitted in the house.
The bylaws, approved unanimously, gave rights to the convener to reserve the ruling on any motion and in case of pandemonium, he can order any house member to leave the session, while the Nazim can address the session any time.
A motion by Siddique Rathore was approved unanimously that called for holding the Oct 23 session of the house on the lawns of city government building.
Meanwhile, EDO Works and Services, Brig.(rtd) Zaheer Qadri who was called in the council to clarify his position on the delay in renovation works of the council hall, stated that one of his DO, was not executing the work.
Upon pressure from the House, EDO informed that DO Shoaib Waqas was not executing the work and he had recommended the Nazim Karachi and DCO to transfer the said DO, which was approved but could not be implemented due to involvement of Salim Azher who is advisor to City Nazim Naimatullah Khan on works.
