Azhar hints at nominating Zubaida for PM’s slot

By Our Staff Reporter

ISLAMABAD, Oct 19: Mian Mohammad Azhar president of the PML(Q) on Saturday hinted at the possibility of nomination of a new entrant, independent MNA (Zubaida Jalal), as the party candidate for the prime ministership.

Replying to a question about the rumours of such a possibility he said first of all we will select a candidate from amongst us but if a question of such a possibility arose we will have no objection for a person who is a Pakistani and willing to serve the country in a better way.

In an informal chat with the newsmen here he said that he would not blame anyone for his defeat on both NA seats and instead accept the verdict of the people. Responding to a question Mian Azhar said: “Right now I have not decided to contest by-elections or go for senate’s membership but actually it would be decided by the party.”

He said the party could have fared even better had there more time available at its disposal to reach out the far flung areas of the country. He claimed the party will emerge even more stronger in the days ahead.
