Construction within one km of lakes banned

PESHAWAR, Oct 19: Provincial Governor Syed Iftikhar Hussain Shah has ordered the officials concerned to ban all types of construction within the radius of one kilometre of all the three famous lakes— Saiful Malook, Doodipat Sar and Loloo Sar situated in Kaghan.

He was presiding over a high-level meeting at the Governor House here on Friday. The meeting was also attended by Tourism and Education Minister Syed Imtiaz Hussain Gilani and Chief Secretary Shakil Durrani.

The NWFP governor also approved a proposal to remove encroachments from the surroundings of the Saiful Malook lake to protect its natural scenic beauty.
