10 die in Kashmir clashes


SRINAGAR, Oct 18: Two Indian soldiers were among 10 people killed in occupied Kashmir on Friday. The Indian army claimed killing seven freedom fighters in separate clashes.

Two Indian army soldiers were killed and two more injured when Mujahideen ambushed a patrol in the district of Kupwara, police said.

The Indian army said it shot dead three freedom fighters near the Line of Control (LoC) in Rajouri sector on Friday.

Police said that in the same district unknown gunmen had shot dead a civilian.

In separate encounters, four more militants were shot dead by the Indian forces in the districts of Pulwama, Baramulla and Doda overnight, a defence spokesman said.—AFP
