HYDERABAD, Oct 17: The protest by the university teachers throughout Pakistan would continue on every Monday and Thursday till the government withdrew the proposed model university act.

This was said by the president, Federation of All Pakistan Universities Academic Staff Association (FAPUASA), Sindh chapter, Prof Nazimuddin Shaikh, in a statement issued on Thursday.

He said that the government had converted education into an industry and promulgated the Model University Act to create another source of income for the capitalist class.

He said that teachers belonged to the enlightened class of society and it was their responsibility to protest against the anti-peoples’ policies of the government.
