Water rotation

KHAIRPUR, Oct 16: The executive engineer, Irrigation, East and West, has announced a fresh rotation programme for 53 canals and minors due to decrease in the water flow at the Sukkur barrage.

The Patni distributary, Faiz Bux Wah, Sanhro Wah, Ali Bahar Wah, Beeho Wah, Pandhro Wah, Khan Wah, Bilawal Wah, Sanisa minor, Dendano minor, Sanwari minor, and Kalra minor have been opened from Oct 12, while the Patni Wah distributary, Sathio Wah, Faiz Gung Wah, Ali Nawaz Wah, Shah Nawaz Wah, Son Wah, and Sadarang Wah will be opened on Oct 20 and will be closed on Oct 28.

The west irrigation area has also been divided into two groups. The first group consists of Kubar minor, Baberlio minor, Kubri minor, Faiz Wah system, Phulwah, Piryaloi minor, Hyder minor, Salar minor, Jamsher minor, and Faiz Canal system, and the second group comprises Rahuja minor, Kingri minor, Allahabad minor, Lalan system, Dinal minor, Bhatti minor, Fareeabad minor, Ahmedpur minor, Bodly minor, Toori minor, Ubul Wah, and Hingorja minor.

The water requirement for Rabi crops would be 80,000 to 90,000 cusecs.
