6 Kashmiri fighters killed

JAMMU, Oct 15: Indian troops claimed killing seven Mujahideen while two others died in occupied Kashmir on Tuesday.

A police spokesman said three of the Mujahideen were gunned down in the Surankot area of Poonch district, 240 kilometres west of occupied Jammu.

Indian soldiers also killed two freedom fighters in the Thannamandi area of Rajouri district, the spokesman claimed.

The police spokesman also said that an Indian soldier and a militant died in a separate firefight in the Mendhar region of Poonch.

In the district of Pulwama, another militant was shot dead by the troops on Tuesday, while the Mujahideen killed an alleged informer of the Indian army in Doda, the police said.—AFP
