Fiery spell by Humair

KARACHI, Oct 15: A fiery spell by paceman Humair Shafat enabled Rangers Gymkhana register an eight-wicket triumph over Nayab CC, in the KCCA Zone III B Division League cricket tournament match at Hill Park Ground Tuesday.

Nayab CC, who won the toss, batted first and were bundled out for just 86 despite a fine knock of 41 by Mohammad Zubair.

Humair Shafat picked up five for 30. His new ball partner Jahangir Umer bagged four for 30.

Rangers Gymkhana cantered to an easy win by scoring 87 for two. Mohammad Khursheed contributed 36.

Asghar picked up both the wickets that fell, giving away 24 runs.

In another match played at Modern Ground, Ishaq Gymkhana beat Khatri Sports by 95 runs.

Batting first, Ishaq Gymkhana made 222 for nine in their 35 allotted overs with Shakeel (47), Khalil Ahmed (34) and Ashfaq (27) among the runs.

Off-spinner Arshad Ali finished off with figures of five for 95 and Salman Yasin claimed three for 83.

Khatri Sports, in reply, were bowled out for 128. Amjad Ali (21) and Wazeer Zada (20), were the only two batsmen to reach double figures.

Mohammad Ali four for 28, Khalil three for 39 and Nadeem Khan two for 31, were responsible for the batting debacle.
