Robbers strike 10 times

LAHORE, Oct 15: Robbers took away cash, gold jewellery, valuables and vehicles in 10 strikes in the city on Tuesday.

Two gunmen stormed into the house of Khwaja Mahmood in Garden Town and made off with cash, gold ornaments and valuables worth over Rs 200,000.

Ms Izzat Nisa was deprived of cash and gold jewellery worth Rs 35,000 by two gunmen in Township.

Three robbers forced their entry into the house of Riaz Ahmad in Muslim Town and took away gold ornaments and valuables worth Rs 250,000.

Nazia Saqib and Zeenat Bibi were on their way home in Allama Iqbal Town when two gun-toting men held them hostage and deprived them of cash and jewellery worth Rs 80,000.

Shafiq told police he along with his family was on his way home when three robbers intercepted his car. He said the miscreants snatched cash and gold ornaments worth Rs 75,000 from them and escaped.

Manzoor was deprived of Rs 50,000 he had borrowed for his marriage by a man in Sabzazar.

A car and three motorcycles were either snatched or stolen from different parts of the city.

BUSTED: Police investigation wing claimed on Tuesday having busted a four-man gang allegedly involved in preparing fake identity cards.

The gang leader has been identified as Asim Shafiq and rest of his accomplices as Sarfraz, Zakir Hussain and Mohammad Imran.
