KARACHI, Oct 15: Sindh education department has invited applications for admission to degree courses against seats reserved for the province in various educational institutions of other provinces.
In the University of Engineering and Technology, Lahore, there are two reserved seats in BE (petroleum), one seat each in the disciplines of BE (mining), BE (CE) and BE (CRP).
The candidates should have passed the pre-engineering exams in “B” grade from any board in the province. However, intermediate with physics, mathematics, computer science and statistics shall be acceptable only for admission to computer science, architecture, city and regional planning.
In the University of Engineering and Technology, Khuzdar, there are four seats - one seat for rural and one for urban. In BE (electrical), one seat for rural and in BE (civil) one seat for urban. The candidates should have at least “B” grade in pre- engineering from any board of Sindh.
In the University College of Information and Technology, Lahore, for one seat in BSc (computer science), the qualification required is at least “C” grade inter science.
In the Ali Ahmed Shah University College of Engineering and Technology, Mirpur, Azad Kashmir, for one seat in BSc (electrical), the required qualification is FSc, first year science (pre-engineering) or BSc maths or physics with at least 45 per cent and age not over 24 years on Oct 1, 2002.
In Azad Kashmir University College of Administrative Science, Azad Kashmir, there is one seat of BBA part one (professional) for which qualification required is intermediate with statistics or mathematics as one subject with at least 45% and age not over 22 years on Oct 1, 2002.
In the Government College of Education for Science, Lahore, there are two seats in BSc (education) and candidates should be intermediate “C” grade.
All the candidates have been asked to appear in an entrance test on Oct 28 at 9am in the committee room of the education department, first floor, Tughlaq House, Karachi.—PPI
