KARACHI, Oct 14: Pakistan Air Force (PAF) were only the side to achieve victory in the opening round matches of the Kardar Trophy cricket tournament, which ended Monday.

PAF, as expected completed an easy seven-wicket win over Pakistan Education (PEB) at National Stadium.

Meanwhile, the match between KESC and Sui Gas produced a nail-biting draw at UBL Sports Complex on the third and final day.

Sui Gas were 179 for nine in their second innings after being set 183 for victory.

Our Sports Reporter adds from Rawalpindi: The rain-hit match between ARL and Army ended in a draw at the Army Cricket Ground.

Play on the third and last day could begin only after tea because of the wet ground that had washed out the entire second day.

Army replying to ARL’s first innings score of 326 for eight were 42 for one off 23 overs when play ended.

Our Sports Correspondent adds from Lahore: The match between PTCL and  Saga also ended in a draw at the latter’s ground in Sialkot.
