MANSEHRA, Oct 14: The provincial secretary general of the PML(Q), Sardar Mohammed Yousaf has said that his party is against street protests.
Speaking at a press conference on Monday at a local hotel, he held District Nazim Mohammed Azam Khan Swati responsible for the deteriorating law and order situation, saying that he was not taking action against the MMA workers who were taking to the streets and bazaars of the town for the last four days.
Dispelling the impression of polls rigging he said that if there were evidences to support the claim then the court of law should be approached.
He also rejected the allegations that rigging helped his son, Sardar Shahjehan Yousaf, win the NA-20 seat.
Meanwhile, the MMA activists continued their protest for the fourth consecutive day and took out a procession from the Markazi Jamia Masjid. The rally passed through various bazaars and culminated at the court room of the NA-20 returning officer.
Speakers at the rally vowed to continue the protest unless Syed Ghulam Nabbi Shah and Mufti Kifayatullah of the MMA were declared successful from NA-20 and PF-55, respectively.
The main gate of the sessions court was locked and guarded by law-enforcement officials.
