Education vital to enhance armed forces’ efficiency: Yusaf

RAWALPINDI, Oct 14: Education and motivation training can play an important role in enhancing combat worthiness and battle efficiency of a soldier, said the vice chief of army staff, Gen Muhammad Yusaf Khan.

He was speaking at the first convocation ceremony of College of Army Education in Murree on Monday.

The general said the latest developments in the field of weaponry had revolutionised the entire spectrum of the art of war, thus adding more responsibility to the warriors and trainees.

He underlined the need for army educationists to equip themselves with intellectual excellence and profound knowledge so as to meet the challenges of their student‘s needs.

Earlier, Gen Yusaf awarded Master and Bachelor of Education degrees to officers and junior commissioned officers. Medals were awarded to those, who achieved distinction in different disciplines.

Gold medals were awarded to Col Muhammad Zafarullah Zafar, Lt-Col Zafar, Lt-Col Asif Sheikh, Lt-Col Noor Sultan, Lt-Col Zafar Iqbal, Lt-Col Muhammad Hafiz, Lt-Col Muhammad Amjad for securing first position in their respective sessions. The JCOs, Naib Subedar Habibullah, Naib Subedar Qamar Zaman, Naib Subedar Muhammad Sohail Yousaf and Naib Subedar Fayyaz were granted gold medals for securing first position in Bachelor of Education degree in their respective sessions.
