SHIKARPUR, Oct 14: A villager was killed on Monday when some armed Tarat Jatoi clansmen raided his fields near Habib Kot and opened fire at him.

The deceased was identified as Mohammad Siddiq Mehar, 43.

The murder is said to be the result of the ongoing dispute between Mehar and Jatoi tribes.

Nadeem Mehar, son of the deceased, registered an FIR with the Lakhi police against 30 Tarat Jatoi clansmen, including Nizam, Kazim, Rind, Anwar, Ghulam Nabi, Gul Mohammad, Ali Khan and Ali Gul.

INJURED: Nine passengers were injured Sunday night when a Larkana-bound Datsun pickup turned turtle in Lakhi.

The injured, Mujeeb Memon, Mehtab Ali, Allah Dino Mangi, Allah Wadhayo, Naseer Ahmad Memon, Mohammad Ali Memon, Amanullah Mangi, Intizar Hussain, and Mohammad Amin Khoso, were admitted to a hospital in Lakhi.

DENIED: The MPA-elect from PS-9, Zulfiqar Ali Kamario, has denied the allegations of rigging in his constituency.

Kamario of the PML (Q) was talking to newsmen here on Monday.

KILLED: Zari Khan Shar, with the help of his accomplices, on Friday gunned down Naseer Mohammad Shar in Ranjho Shar village.

The motive behind the murder is said to be a dispute over family affairs.

PPP LEADER: A member of the PPP provincial council, Sardar Wahid Bux Khan Bhayo, on Saturday observed his party candidates were defeated in Shikarpur district due to the district leadership’s wrong decisions and discouraging attitude towards senior leaders and activists.

Talking to newsmen, Bhayo said the district leadership even had ignored him while awarding party tickets. He said the local leadership should change their attitude and repose the confidence of the workers.
