KARACHI: Quality of Pakistani software appreciated

KARACHI, Oct 14: A large number of Arab students visited the stalls of the University of Karachi, NED, Sindh and Mehran engineering universities at the ITCN-Dharan and expressed deep interest in the IT programmes of these institutions.

This was stated by director IT Board Sindh, Syed Asim Zafar, adding that many foreign students would take admissions to the educational institutions in Sindh, a press release said on Monday.

It said that software companies led by the IT Board had also made a breakthrough in talks with the Saudi and other foreign companies, who were impressed by the quality of Pakistani software.

A number of companies also signed MoUs for software export.

Besides, Dharan Chambers of Commerce and Industry assured the Sindh IT Board of full assistance and facilities in Saudi Arabia.

Mr Asim was confident that Sindh would soon become a centre of information technology.—PPI
