MIRPURKHAS, Oct 13: The MNA-elect from NA-229, Arbab Ghulam Raheem, has expressed hopes that a coalition government of the SDA, MMA, MQM and PML-F will be formed in Sindh.
Refusing to entertain the idea of any pact with the People’s Party Parliamentarians, the Sindh Democratic Alliance leader said his party would like to join a coalition of the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal, the Muttahida Qaumi Movement and the Pakistan Muslim League (F).
He was talking to newsmen here on Sunday.
Meanwhile, another SDA leader, Syed Khadim Ali Shah, has called for the resignation of the party chief, Imtiaz Sheikh.
He said that Sheikh should emulate Javed Jabbar, Begum NAsim Wali Khan and Asfandyar Wali and resign.
Our Mithi Corresspondent reports: Some former parliamentarians have demanded of the chief justice, the Election Commission and Sindh governor to order re-election at the two National Assembly and the four Sindh Assembly seats of Tharparkar district under the supervision of army, as, according to them, the seats have been won by the Sindh Democratic Alliance through rigging.
Dr Khatumal, Giyanchand and others were speaking at a news conference here on Saturday.
They alleged that the henchmen of the Arbabs and Rana and the Patels harassed the polling agents of the PPP candidates and even forced them to leave a number of polling stations to pave the way for the success of the SDA candidates through rigging and bogus voting.
They also alleged that the henchmen of the SDA’s influential feudal lords were harassing the voters of PPP and particularly the people of the schedule castes, and forcing them to migrate from their native villages.
The recent example in this regard, they said, was that of Dharah village near Mithi, from where scores of the Meghwar families had migrated to Mithi town after receiving threats by Hatim and other Thakurs.
Dr Khatumal, Giyanchand and others also led a protest rally here on Saturday against the alleged rigging in the election in Tharparkar district.
Speaking at the rally in front of the local press club, Dr Khatumal and others accused some of the officials of the district administration of playing a partisan role in the election.
They appealed the government to provide protection to the Thari people, who were being harassed by the successful candidates.
