KARACHI: Soomro to inaugurate art exhibition on 19th
KARACHI, Oct 13: Sindh Governor Mohammedmian Soomro will inaugurate a 15-day exhibition of Arts and Handicrafts on October 19.
This was decided at a meeting presided over by Sindh Secretary for Culture and Tourism Ashiq Hussain here on Saturday.
The exhibition will be held by the Sindh culture and tourism department to promote the culture, tourism, arts and handicrafts of Sindh.
The secretary said Sindh government has prepared various programmes for the promotion of the culture of the Indus Valley, so that the people of the province could become fully aware of their culture, civilization and art.
He directed all the departments concerned to play their role to make the exhibition a success and ensure maximum participation of the people, besides those associated with educational institutions and cultural centres.
Deputy Director, National Museum Hyderabad, Shehzor Taibani informed the meeting about the arrangements of the exhibition.
He said the exhibition will held daily from Oct 19 to November 2.
Shehzor said the relevant departments will advertise their products, and a young artist Atique Mir will present complete calligraphy of Surah-i-Rahman through pin and thread work.
The meeting was also attended by Director Culture Abdur Razaq Memon, Chairman Sindh Language Authority Dr Mohammed Qasim Bughio, Secretary Sindh Adabi Board Ghulam Rabbani Agro and Director Social Welfare Qamaruddin Ahmed Khan.—APP
