KARACHI: Narcotics control in Sindh discussed


KARACHI, Oct 13: The acting chief of the United Nations Drugs Control Programme (UNDCP) of Pakistan, Dr Thomas Zeindal and Deputy Director General of the Anti Narcotics Force Aftab Nabi called on Sindh Minister for Health Maj-Gen Ahsan Ahmed (retd) here on Sunday.

The visiting delegation held discussions on various issues concerning narcotics control in Pakistan.

The Sindh health minister has been appointed as focal person between the Narcotics Control Board and Sindh government.

On the occasion, the UNDCP acting chief expressed satisfaction over the steps being taken by the provincial government to control narcotics in Sindh.

Ahsan Ahmed informed the delegation about the progress on the setting up of the special cell for rehabilitation of narcotics addicts in society. Aftab Nabi urged the Sindh health minister to send copies of the project to other provinces as well.

Ahsan Ahmed assured the delegation that he would continue his cooperation with the anti-narcotics board to control drug trafficking and rehabilitation of drug addicts.—APP
