KARACHI: KBCA chief given more powers

KARACHI, Oct 12: TO improve further the performance of the Karachi Building Control Authority (KBCA) and enhance the pace of work, more powers have been delegated to the organizations’ chief controller, Brig A.S. Nasir.

This was announced by a KBCA spokesman in a statement here on Saturday.

He said that through these powers Brig Nasir would be competent to transfer and post officers of any grade and could initiate action against those found guilty of dereliction of duty under efficiency and discipline rules.

The spokesman maintained that through these powers the work on the scheme for regularization of illegal constructions would be speeded up and the organization’s financial position would strengthen.—APP
