THATTA, Oct 11: People’s Party Parliamentarians candidates from Thatta district on Friday accused the Sindh minister for irrigation and the district Nazim of massive rigging in the election.

They were speaking a press conference at the local press club.

Those, who addressed the press conference were the PPP’s district chief and the party’s contestant from NA-237, Dr Abdul Wahid Soomro, Arbab Wazir Ahmed Memon (NA-238), Babu Ghulam Hussain (PS-84), Haji Usman Jalbani (PS-88) haji Shams Memon (PS- 86) and Pir Ghulam Rabbani (PS-87).

They accused the provincial minister for irrigation, Syed Aijaz Ali Shah Shirazi and the district Nazim, Syed Shafqat Hussain Shah Shirazi, of masterminding devious ploys to get their sons and nephews elected from the district.

They expressed their dismay over inaction of the concerned authorities over their complaints.

They said they had sent complaints to the CEC, the provincial election commission, the EU election observers and other relevant authorities about the poll-related irregularities.

They accused the Sindh governor of indirectly aiding the Shirazis’ campaign.

They also accused the federal information minister, Nisar Memon, of helping the Shirazis’ campaign.

They said that Wazir Memon and Usman Jalbani were being officially declared as the winners but later the results were manipulated at the DRO office.
