LONDON, Oct 10: Prince Karim Aga Khan has failed in his attempt to build an Islamic museum and cultural centre in London.

The site for the proposed museum is right opposite the Houses of Parliament.

The owners of the plot turned down Aga Khan’s 24 million pounds offer in favour of a lesser bid.

Aga Khan wanted to house the world’s largest collection of Islamic art in the English-speaking world.

The decision followed months of wrangling over the site.
