TIMERGARA, Oct 9: A meeting to review the law and order situation and finalize security arrangements for Thursday’s elections in Dir Lower was held at the district government secretariat with officiating district Nazim, Alamzeb Khan, in the chair.

The meeting drew up plan to make foolproof security arrangements so that no unpleasant incident occurs and the polls are conducted in a free, fair and transparent manner.

The Nazim said at the meeting that the areas/polling stations, which had been declared sensitive, needed special attention.

He directed the authorities concerned to take special security measures for maintaining peace in these areas on the polling day. He warned that no lethargy on the part of any government official would be tolerated in this regard.

He said he had already conveyed to the elected Nazimeen to show impartiality during the elections, extend full cooperation to the law enforcing agencies in maintaining peace and desist from carrying out processions as this could create a law and order situation.

The officiating Nazim said he, as well as tehsil Nazimeen, would stay in their offices to respond to any emergency call.
