KARACHI: KESC takes special measures


KARACHI, Oct 9: The KESC has announced that its senior management, chief engineers and operational engineers at power stations, load dispatch and the central information centre will remain on duty on Oct 10 to ensure uninterrupted power supply and speedily attending to any unforeseen breakdown of electricity.

The KESC has also sent an SOS to the national grid and WAPDA to ensure 500 MW power supply to Karachi so that there is no shortage of power supply for distribution to the city during the evening peak hours between 6:00 p.m and midnight on Oct 9 and 10.

Standby generators have also been arranged to meet any eventually concerning reliable power supply.

The 14 KESC zonal managers and subordinate engineers of the zones will be available in their respective areas to ensure immediate action in case of any fault in their area.

The compliant number 118 has been strengthened to register all city power failure complaints and may immediately be contacted on phone in case of any complaint.—PPI
