Nadiya and Amna clash for title

LAHORE, Oct 4: Nadiya and Amna Najam qualified for the final of the Punjab Women Ranking squash tournament for seniors, winning their respective semifinals at the Punjab Squash Complex Friday.

Nadiya in a well contested match emerged victorius against Saima Shoukat. The match was decided in five games with the final score 15-12, 11-15, 15-8,  10-15, 15-4.

Amna, however, faced little opposition from Misbha Rani in three straight games winning 15-6, 15-12, 17-14.

In the Under-15, Aliya will meet Maleeha in the final.

Aliya beat Amna Mehboob 15-8, 15-5,  15-13  in the first semifinal.

Maleeha thrashed Gulzaman 15-13, 15-10, 17-15.

In the Under-13 section, Marhaba is to play Qandeel in the final.

Marhaba got the better of Roshna 15-11, 15-10, 15-11, in an interesting tussle Qandeel beat Beenis after losing the third game, with the score 15-4, 15-11, 10-15, 15-7.

All three finals will be played Saturday.
