KARACHI: 10 cars, 14 bikes hijacked

KARACHI, Oct 3: Twenty-four vehicles — 10 cars and 14 motorcycles — were either hijacked or stolen in the city on Thursday, police said.

Four cars were hijacked. Six others were stolen.

Eight motorcycles were hijacked. Six others were stolen.

ROBBERY: One robbery was committed in the city on Thursday, police said.

Four armed men robbed the house of an editor of a fortnightly medical newspaper in Gulistan-i-Jauhar in the morning. Four armed men barged into the house of Shaukat Ali Jawaid in Block-14. They entered the house at 8:20am and held the occupants hostage at gunpoint. The bandits searched the entire house and beat up Shaukat Ali and his son Dr Masood Jawaid and demanded cash and jewellery.

The bandits got away with valuables, including master card, visa card and ID cards and jewellery, and Rs20,000.
