By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, Oct 3: Four ships including Umberto Damato carrying 51,100 tons of rapeseed are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Friday.

Berthing activity at the wharves was active where six ships were berthed. They are: Ocean Genius, Chitral, Kota Wirawan, MSC Rosa-M, Kota Tegap, which will unload and load containers and Sacura, to unload fertilizer.

Sailing was also active as seven ships, MSC Lucy, APL Costa Rica, Favorita, Darya Dhayah, Sorena, Indradi and Progresso, departed, while Iran Meead, Kota Wirawan, Felicity-1, Khairpur, Dagmar, MOL Sincerity and Chitral are due to sail out on Friday.

According to berth occupancy figures released by the KPT, it fell to 33 per cent on the bulk oil piers but was maintained on the higher side at 60 per cent on the dry wharves. Cargo handling activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side thanks to larger handling of liquid cargo. The following ships are due on Friday: Johar, with crude oil, Warbah, with high speed diesel, Sima Kija, with containers and Umberto Damato, with rapeseed.
