QUETTA, Oct 2: The Pakistan People’s Party, Balochistan, has urged the European Union Election Observers to take notice of the “pre-election rigging through bogus National Identity cards” in the province.
Speaking at a press conference here on Wednesday, the provincial president of PPP, Javed Ahmed, alleged that a large number of bogus national ID cards had been seized in Nushki and a Nadra employee arrested for forgery.
He said the party had already pointed out that the government was planning to rig the election in favour of the “king’s party” as it did not want to transfer power to the real representatives of the people.
He said the government was supporting the PML-QA and Millat Party “simply to prolong the military rule in the country.” He said the recovery of bogus ID cards exposed the government’s real intentions.
Mr Javed Ahmed said that some other bogus ID cards were also seized in Usta Mohammad. He said that four to five cards had been made in the name of one person for bogus voting in favour of the government-supported parties.
He demanded of the authorities concerned and the European Union Election Observers to take stock of this “pre-election rigging.”
Replying to a question, he said the party commanded a good position on various national and provincial assembly seats in Balochistan. “We will fight on all seats against the candidates of the king’s party,” the PPP leader remarked.
