Khalid puts Karachi ‘W’ on top

MULTAN, Oct 2: An unbeaten 161 by skipper Khalid Latif put Karachi Whites in an impregnable position on the second day of the National Junior (Under-19) Grade-I Cricket Championship final against Lahore Blues at Multan Cricket Stadium here Wednesday.

Karachi Whites obtained a first innings lead of 134 after piling up 310 for six in their allotted quota of 90 overs.

Lahore Blues then lost openers Fahad-ul-Haq (0) and Shahnawaz Malik to reach stumps at 54 for two with two days’ play remaining.

Besides Khalid, Mubashir Ahmed was also among the runs after Karachi Whites resumed at 52 for no loss in reply to Lahore Blues’ first innings score of 176.

Mansoor Ali was stumped after making 33 off 47 deliveries.
