SAHIWAL, Sept 29: Wapda’s Sahiwal superintending engineer has suspended old grid station’s sub-station officer from service, transferred a head clerk and ordered registration of a case against an XEN.

The action was taken on the basis of an inquiry which held sub-station officer Tariq Mahmood, head clerk Anwarul Haq and XEN Waheed responsible for a Rs16.8 million electricity theft.

The inquiry was ordered by the Wapda chairman on the complaint of authority’s Sahiwal employee Tariq Naeem. The three had sold out 217,000, 54,000 and 54,000 units, respectively.
