Contraband seized

KOHAT, Sept 29: Anti-Narcotics Force seized huge quantity of charas and opium being smuggled to downcountry from a tribal territory and arrested three carriers on Sunday, officials said.

Acting on a tip-off, inspector Tajmaeen and inspector Asmatullah Khan stopped two cars for checking and after a thorough search recovered 111 kilograms of charas and 122 kilograms of fine-quality opium from secret cavities.

The consignment was destined for Karachi by three carriers who had loaded it in Darra Adam Khel. The vehicles used in smuggling were also impounded by the ANF staff. The accused identified as Shams ul Haq, Haroon Shah and Naimatullah were being interrogated by a special team.
