Candidates begin door-to-door canvassing

SWABI, Sept 29: The contestants of upcoming general elections have embarked on a door-to-door canvassing campaign to win over maximum number of voters as the polling day scheduled for Oct 10 draws close with each passing day.

The Swabi district has two seats of national assembly and six seats of the NWFP assembly.

Apart from organizing big public rallies and corner meetings, the political parties’ leaders visit the residences of voters to convince them on their electoral agenda.

The president of Awami National Party Asfandyar Wali Khan and provincial president Begum Nasim Wali Khan, central president of Pakhtoonkhwa Milli Awami Party Mahmood Khan Achakzai, chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf Imran Khan president of National Awami Party Pakistan Ajmal Khattak and the PML(N) general secretary Siranjam Khan and provincial president Pir Sabir Shah have visited the district.

More visits by Sardar Mehtab Ahmad Khan, Asfandyar Wali Khan, Aftab Ahmad Khan Sherpao and MMA leaders are on the cards in the first week of next month.
