SUKKUR, Sept 26: The DCO, Jacobabad, Khwaja Siddiq Akber, has been sent on compulsory leave.
The EDO (Finance), Shamsuddin Soomro, is working as acting DCO but he would be replaced by a permanent DCO in few days, Dawn learnt.
Former National Assembly speaker, Illahi Bux Soomro, had been trying for the transfer of the DCO, sources said.
Illahi Baksh is contesting election from NA-208, Jacobabad.
DESERTS: Mubin Phulpoto, chief of the Asif Zardari Rehai Committee, has entered into an alliance with the PML/F on one NA and three PA seats of Khairpur.
In this regard an important meeting was held on Wednesday night at the residence of Pir of Pagaro in Pir Goth, which was attended by his son Sadruddin Shah Rashidi, who is also contesting the election.
After the deal was finalized, Mr Sadruddin made the announcement of this deal at the Khairpur Press Club on Thursday.
According to the deal finalized by the two parties, Sher Mohammad Phulpoto, Mubin’s brother, announced to withdraw from PS-29, 30, and 32 Khairpur, while they would extend full support to Imtiaz Phulpoto of the PML/F against the PPP’s Qaim Ali Shah on PS-29.
They would also help against Nawab Wassan of the PPP to Salim Palh on PS/32 Khairpur.
Similar help would be given by them for NA/215 to Sadruddin Shah of the PML/F against Manzoor Wassan.
A similar help would be provided by the PML for Sher Mohammad Phulpoto in the election.
FIRING: A firing incident took place here on Thursday when a PML-F meeting was in progress near the Military Road.
A candidate on NA-198, Haji Abdul Qadir Ghumro, was speaking at the election meeting when some armed men came and fired some shots.
When the police chased the culprits, they managed to escape.
