KARACHI, Sept 26: The secretary-general of the National Alliance, Mohammad Ali Durrani, has stated that in a bid to destablise Pakistan, the fundamentalist Hindu leadership in India had become active to promote cross-border terrorism.
Speaking at a press conference at Karachi Press Club, he asked the world bodies to take notice of the Indian machinations.
The Indian agents want to block Pakistan’s journey to democracy, he said, adding tragedies take place at a time when a dignitary from the West visits the region. Mr Durrani was flanked by the chief of Sindh Democratic Alliance and candidates of the Alliance and leaders of the Millat Party.
Expressing grief and sorrow over the tragic incident of Wednesday in Karachi in which seven Christians were killed, he said it was a tragedy for the countrymen, as no such incidents should occur in a civilized society.
He recalled that this incident also happened at a time when the US Assistant Secretary of State Christina Rocca was visiting the region.
Similarly, yet another tragic incident occurred in Indian Gujrat and on Wednesday in Karachi.
“The outcome of investigations, so far, held of such incidents in the past in India had led to the involvement of Hindu extremists. This is part of their agenda to manage such incidents to bring a bad name to Pakistan.
Mr Durrani, who is also a leader of the Millat Party, was asked how many candidates of his party would be elected in the elections, he said the component of political parties of the National Alliance and Grand National Alliance had fielded candidate not on the basis of the party but on the suitability of the candidate in the constituency jointly as such a programme of combined public meetings had been chalked out to be addressed by the central leaders of the alliance.
He expressed optimism that the NA would form the next political government as the governments in the past gave nothing to the people except deprivation, poverty and subjugation.
“Now people are yearning for a government which could deliver the good and they are fed up with politics of agitation,” he said.
SDA chief Imtiaz Ahmad Shaikh, who also condemned the tragic incident of Wednesday, said those claiming popularity in the interior of the province would be exposed on Oct 10.
