SANGHAR, Sept 25: Governor Sindh Mohammedmian Soomro visited Tando Adam on Wednesday and presided over a meeting of district officers at the irrigation rest house where he reviewed preparations for the election.

He announced development schemes worth Rs100 million for the district. The schemes included Rs10 million for the Khipro drainage scheme, Rs10 million for the Civil Hospital Sanghar, Rs10 million for roads in Shahdadpur, Rs20 million for the railway bridge at Tando Adam, Rs13 million for drinking water scheme at Sanghar town, and Rs50 million for roads in Sarhari and Shahpur Chakar.

He announced this at a public meeting held at the Shah Latif High School, Tando Adam.

The governor emphasized upon judicious distribution of irrigation water.

He said Rs10 billion had already been allocated by the government for irrigation projects.

Mr Soomro advised the people to vote for the right people and elect honest representatives who could solve their problems.

KARO-KARI: A girl, Pathani, 18, was strangulated to death by her brother and others at Chak No20 in the jurisdiction of Mangli police on Monday. She was suspected Kari by her brother. Ghulam Rasool Chandio and Mohammad Chandio, forced the girl to drink a toxic liquid and later strangulated her to death after she fell unconscious.
