KARACHI: Muttahida to change corrupt political culture

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, Sept 19: Chief of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement, Altaf Hussain, has said that his party wants to change the prevailing corrupt political culture and ensure the rule of the people in the country.

Addressing election meetings of his party at Karachi, Hyderabad and Sukkur on Thursday, he said that Muttahida’s politics was not aimed to achieve any personal gain, but to solve the problems of the people and serve them only. He criticised the sale of party tickets to candidates by certain parties, and maintained that people from the poor and middle income groups could not deposit huge amounts for party tickets, and that was why they were left out of electoral process in the country.

He said that his party wanted to eradicate the age old feudal system, and hoped that his party candidates would keep themselves aloof of corruption.
