NA, BNDP support former minister


QUETTA, Sept 18: Former education minister Zubaida Jalal has gained support following a seat adjustment between Balochistan National Democratic Party and the National Alliance following prolonged talks and bargaining in Turbat on Wednesday.

Zubaida Jalal is contesting the elections as an independent candidate.

During the talks the National Alliance and the BNDP, she emerged as non controversial candidate.

The National Alliance was represented by Mir Mohammad Ali Rind, Mir Abdul Ghafoor, both former Ministers, Nasir Ali Dashti, Mir Murad Khan, Engineer Hameed Baluch and Mir Imam Bizenjo, while the BNDP was represented by Shakil Baluch, a former MNA, Mulla Barkat, Fida Hussain Dashti, Dr Hayat Baluch and Gul Khan.

They agreed to support Zubaida Jalal for the Kech-Gwader constituency of National Assembly, Syed Ehsan Shah for PB-48, Dr Hayat Baluch for PB-49, Mohammad Asghar Rind for PB-50, and Sher Jan for PB-51, Gwadar.

Dr Abdul Malik, a former provincial education minister, is challenging Zubaida Jalal. He is a leader of Balochistan National Movement.—SB
