RCB extends water supply to four areas

RAWALPINDI, Sept 15: The Rawalpindi Cantonment Board (RCB) has extended its water supply services to four new localities situated in its limits, official sources told Dawn.

These localities — Kamalabad, Bakramandi, Misrial Road and Allama Iqbal Colony — were facing acute water scarcity, the Rawalpindi Cantonment Board director water supply, Col Abdul Rehman, said.

He said the two tubewells functioning in these areas could not meet the requirement of the residents.

These localities will now be provided 1.5 million gallon of water per day from Khanpur Dam, a water management official said. New connections are also being provided to the people in these areas.
