NEW YORK, Sept 14: The United States plans to revive the project for building a gas pipeline from Central Asia to Pakistan through Afghanistan, well informed sources told Dawn on Saturday.
The US president discussed the project with President Gen Pervez Musharraf during the 45-minute meeting on Thursday, the sources added.
The project could bring much-needed prosperity to war-ravaged Afghanistan and also help strengthen Pakistan’s economy.
