PML-QA leaves PF-68 for Sherpao’s candidate

By Our Correspondent

DERA ISMAIL KHAN, Sept 14: The Pakistan Muslim League (Quaid-i-Azam) has decided to withdraw its candidate from PF-68 constituency in favour of Makhdoomzada Murid Kazim Shah of the PPP-S.

This was stated by Umar Farooq Khan Miankhel, a PML-Q candidate from PF-64, at a press conference held at his residence on Friday.

Mr Miankhel said that as a result of his decision his party expected that the candidates of Grand National Alliance and the PPP (Sherpao) contesting for PF-64 and PF-65 seats would withdraw in favour of the PML-Q candidates as had been agreed upon by their leaders.

Mr Miankhel alleged that District Nazim Latifullah Khan Alizai was abusing his office by utilizing the development funds as political bribe and official vehicles for running the election campaign of his brother and cousin, Hafeezullah Khan Alizai and Mazhar Jamil Khan Alizai, candidates from PF-65 and PF-64 constituencies, respectively.

Referring to a claim by MMA leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman about the pre-polls rigging, Mr Miankhel said that when the Maulana foresaw his defeat he started issuing such statements.
