ISLAMABAD, Sept 14: The government and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) will sign a Poverty Reduction Partnership Agreement on Monday. This will make the Bank’s Country Strategy Programme operational and utilize the Bank’s $2.4 billion assistance package.
The agreement will be signed by the ADB vice-president Myoung-Ho Shiri, who arrived here on Friday and Minister for Finance Shaukat Aziz. The partnership agreement spells out the shared strategy and goals of the government and the ADB on poverty reduction.
The ADB official will stay in Pakistan till 18th and will meet key officials to discuss progress on the government’s economic and governance reform initiatives.—Staff Reporter
