HUB, Sept 14: The president of Balochistan National Party (Mengal) and ex-chief minister, Sardar Akhtar Mengal, has voiced concern over the rejection of nomination papers of some key politicians of the country.
He was talking to newsmen on Saturday after the inauguration of a BNP-M election office here.
Mr Mengal alleged that the military regime made political parties to boycott the forthcoming elections. If the provincial political parties boycotted the polls, his party would join the protest, he added.
The military rulers wanted a selected assembly instead of an elected one, through holding engineered elections, he added.
He also alleged that the government had rejected the papers of some key politicians and accepted the nominations of some fake-degree holders because they were pro-government.
Talking about the politics in Lasbela, he said followers of the federal system had their loans written off and done nothing for the welfare of people. And now they were planning the same for the future, he added.
When asked about forming any election alliance or making seat adjustment with the other political parties of Balochistan, the BNP leader said talks were under way for the seat adjustment with the Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal, Balochistan National Movement and other political parties while a pact had been signed with the Pakhtoonkhwa Milli Swami Party in this regard.
The BNP leader also addressed a gathering on the occasion. He explained the manifesto of his party and appealed to the people to vote the candidates of BNP-M.
