HYDERABAD, Sept 14: Pakistan Muslim League (N) candidates for NA-219, Hyderabad- II, and PS-49, Hyderabad-VII, have termed the rejection of nomination forms of Shahbaz Sharif and Kulsoom Nawaz a part of the government conspiracy and pre-election rigging.

In a joint statement issued here on Friday, NA-219 candidate Shabbir Ahmad and PS-49 candidate Mohammad Afzal Gujjar hoped people would foil what they called anti-democratic conspiracies of the dictators on October 10.

Meanwhile, Hyderabad Shehri Mahaz president Mohammad Sultan Shaikh joined the PML (N) along with his companions.

He made the announcement in presence of Ahmad and Gujjar on Friday.

Gujjar, who is a member of the PML (N) Parliamentary Board, and Ahmad announced Shaikh would contest the election from PS-48, Hyderabad-VI, as PML (N) candidate.

KIDNAPPING SLAMMED: Some PPP (SB) leaders have said the kidnapping of five persons in Oderolal taluka, Matiari, is a conspiracy to sabotage the election.

The party leaders, NA-218 candidate Piral Majeedano, Zahid Jakhio, Allah Bachayo Baloch and others, in a joint statement issued here on Friday, condemned the kidnapping of three members of the minority and two businessmen.

Majeedano demanded of the authorities to launch an operation against criminals in Matiari taluka and recover the kidnapped persons, and warned if they were not recovered, his party would hold a series of protest demonstrations throughout the district.

MMA candidate: A candidate of the Muttahida Majlis-i- Amal (MMA) for PS-52, Hyderabad-X, Mufti Wali Mohammad Leghari, has withdrawn his candidature in favour of Dr Irfan Gul Magsi, a PML (N) candidate.

Leghari announced this while speaking at a news conference at the press club here on Saturday.

He said the decision to this effect was taken following negotiations of Dr Khalid Mehmood Soomro, general-secretary, MMA and JUI, Sindh, with Dr Magsi and his father Raees Allah Bux.

It may be mentioned here Dr Magsi is contesting the election after resigning from his post of Nazim of Chambar union council.

SUPPORT: Two leaders of the Pakistan Civic Forum, Syed Mohammad Ali Shah and Pir Syed Waseem Shah Jilani, have extended their support to an independent candidate for PS-47, Hyderabad-V, Qasimabad, Jagdesh Gularjani.

They were speaking at a press conference here on Saturday.
