PESHAWAR: Varsity ready to move

Published September 15, 2002

PESHAWAR, Sept 14: The administration of Afghan University has agreed to move its campus from Peshawar to Khost.

The Afghan government had granted approval for the shifting of the campus to Khost in April, but the administration was reluctant to move from Peshawar in view of the security situation in Afghanistan.

An official source said the university administration had decided to start relocation operation and some 5,000 students would be shifted to the new campus in near future.

The source said a large number of students belonging to Khost province had already moved to their country.—Bureau
