Man shot dead by robbers

LAHORE, Sept 13: Robbers shot dead a man and made off with cash, gold, valuables and vehicles in various parts of the city on Friday.

Four gunmen stormed into the house of Taj Din in Harbanspura and held up inmates. On resistance, the intruders opened fire.

Bullets hit Taj, 40, who sustained serious injuries. The miscreants collected cash and valuables worth hundreds of thousands of rupees and escaped.

The injured man died on way to hospital. The body was sent to the city mortuary for autopsy.

However, the police claimed they had not so far found any evidence of the involvement of robbers in the incident.

“We have registered a simple murder case,” a policeman of the Harbanspura police station said.

Salesman Amjad of a cigarette company was intercepted by two gunmen at Karamabad in Badami Bagh who deprived him of Rs53,000.

Two armed men held up Ibadullah on his way home in Gulberg and made off with Rs 21,000 and his car (LRB-3322).

Two robbers held up Ghazanfar Ali in Hanjarwal and drove away with his car (LRE-6902).

Yet another gang of two robbers held up Amjad Hussain on his way home in Mughalpura and snatched his wallet carrying hundreds of rupees and some important documents and drove away with his motorcycle (LXM-8745).— Reporter
