Team briefed on poll process

ISLAMABAD, Sept 13: Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Justice Irshad Hassan Khan (Rtd) has reiterated that the Election Commission will act with neutrality, impartiality, objectivity and independence at every stage of the elections.

He was giving a detailed briefing on the ongoing electoral process in the country to a two-member team, headed by Russian Ambassador Mr Eduard S. Shevehendo, that called on him here on Friday.

The CEC also informed them about the steps and measures so far taken by the commission to ensure free, fair and transparent elections on Oct 10.

He observed that ambassadors of the foreign countries in Pakistan were always welcomed to such briefings. According to a press release issued by the Election Commission, Mr Shevehendo had highly appreciated the steps taken by the commission.
