KARACHI: Endowment fund for students


KARACHI, Sept 13: The Sindh government has decided to set up an endowment fund of Rs1 million to help deserving students get admissions to institutes of higher education.

This was announced by Sindh minister for finance, Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh, in Karachi on Friday at the formal launch of the scholarship programme being offered by the Griffith Collage, Ireland. The minister praised the Griffith College for providing job-oriented education and termed the scholarship an act of foresight, a good business decision to support deserving students get quality education”,.

Abdullah Hussain Haroon, chairman of the Academic Board, Griffith Collage Dublin, Karachi Campus, said: “The scholarship is part of our development infrastructure to give our students the type of education that they get abroad”.—PPI
