PTCL, SCO sign deal on telecom traffic, revenue sharing

ISLAMABAD, Sept 12: The Pakistan Telecommunication Company Ltd (PTCL) and Special Communication Organization (SCO) on Thursday signed an agreement whereby both entities will cooperate with each other in the field of revenue sharing and telecom traffic.

Nooruddin Baqai, member of Business Development PTCL, signed the agreement on behalf of the company while Maj-Gen Waheed Akhtar Malik represented SCO.

It may be mentioned here that the PTCL had already signed similar agreements with mobile telephone companies while another agreement with the National Telecom Corporation was in the pipeline.

The PTCL chairman, Akhtar Ahmad Bajwa, while speaking on the occasion, termed the accord a landmark and a step forward towards enhanced relationship between the PTCL and SCO.

He said it was the first agreement of this sort that would go a long way in strengthening relations between the two-telecom companies.

He said by virtue of this agreement, both the PTCL and SCO would not only be cooperating with each other in revenue sharing but also use telecom network of each other.

Mr Bajwa said this step would benefit the PTCL and SCO customers, adding this agreement provided for basis of a credible partnership with telecom companies like SCO.
