23 cities declared sensitive


ISLAMABAD, Sept 9: Twenty-three cities of the country have been declared as highly sensitive regarding law and order situation during the forthcoming general elections.

Keeping in view the sensitivity of these areas, the government has ordered that security arrangements be tightened. The law-enforcement agencies and police officials have been given instructions to ensure smooth and peaceful process of the polls.

These cities are: Lahore, Faisalabad, Multan, Sargodha, Jhang, Gujrat, Bahawalpur, Rawalpindi and Dera Ghazi Khan of Punjab; Karachi, Hyderabad, Sanghar, Larkana, Mirpurkhas and Jacobabad of Sindh; Peshawar, Mardan, Hazara, Kohat and Dera Ismail Khan of NWFP and Quetta, Dera Bugti and Dera Murad Jamali of Balochistan.—PPI
