Polls under judiciary urged

By Our Correspondent

CHITRAL, Sept 9: The Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal demanded of the government on Monday to appoint an official from the judiciary to conduct free and fair polls in the area.

At a meeting of the MMA, the NA-32 returning officer was criticized for his alleged manoeuvring to help the PML-QA candidate, who is the son of district Nazim, succeed from the constituency.

The meeting, chaired by MMA, Chitral, president Maulana Abdul Latif, also demanded of the government to curtail the authority of the district Nazim as he was allegedly using the public funds for his son’s election campaign.
